Skanska - Senior Buyer Opportunity

You will be working within the Building Services Operating Unit (OU) based in Leavesden (Watford), where we are responsible for creating healthy workplaces, and efficient facilities that improve people’s lives. In this role, you will support and assist the Commercial Services Enabling Function.

We are currently looking for a Senior Buyer who will negotiate, and place material and plant orders against operational and business requirements. This will include collation of contractual documentation, following Skanska’s procurement processes and maintenance of procurement administration. Lead and develop a small team of Procurement professionals in order to achieve organisational objectives.

As The Senior Buyer, You Will

  • Minimise the cost of plant and materials and services to Skanska whilst supporting the need for a safe and sustainable supply chain.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, comply with Skanska’s Procurement Policies and work to project and bid timelines.
  • Use Skanska’s Oracle ERP system to place orders, manage tenders and run reports.
  • Understand and apply alignment of Capital works & Lifecycle project to MEP experience and supply chain.
  • Lead procurement activities on projects working with commercial and operational teams.
  • Produce tender recommendation reports for procurement management approval.

We Are Looking For

  • Demonstrable experience in transactional and tactical procurement.
  • Professionalism and good corporate governance.
  • Enthusiasm and a track record of excellent collaboration in order to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Proven desire to improve both yourself and the procurement tasks you undertake.
  • Line management skills and the ability to develop others.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of business and supply chain.
  • (Desirable) Degree level educated in a relevant subject or comparable relevant experience in a Procurement focused role.
  • MEP Experience.
