Role Overview

As Senior Buyer you will lead the sourcing, selection and commercial management of third-party branded beauty partnership for products sold via our online retail platform.

This is a highly commercial and trend-led role, responsible for identifying the brands, products and emerging beauty trends that our customers will want next.

As Senior Buyer you will build strong relationships with established and emerging beauty brands, securing compelling products and commercial terms that differentiate our proposition and drive profitable growth.

The role will take ownership of the branded beauty range from trend and opportunity identification through to sourcing, negotiation, launch and ongoing performance management, ensuring we have the right brands and products, at the right price, at the right time.

  • Significant previous buying experience within beauty, cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, haircare, or another fast-moving branded consumer category
  • Excellent track record of sourcing and buying third-party branded products.
  • Demonstrable experience of negotiating directly with brands, distributors and suppliers.
  • Experience of international sourcing, ideally including the US, Europe and Asia.
  • Understanding of ecommerce and the commercial dynamics of an online retail environment.
  • Experience managing sales, margin and profitability targets.

  • Strong product instinct combined with the ability to use data to support buying decisions.
  • An excellent negotiator, comfortable managing senior-level relationships with brands and suppliers.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive, with the ability to identify opportunities and move quickly to secure them.
  • Comfortable operating in start-up, fast-paced, trend-driven ecommerce environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, margin, stock and customer data.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple launches and commercial priorities simultaneously.
