Due to continued company growth and expansion, a leading manufacturer supplying complex products to the Aerospace, Automotive, Rail and High Technology sectors has a new vacancy for a Buyer to join the team. You will be responsible for managing and developing suppliers ensuring cost effective and efficient supply. Applicants are sought with purchasing experience ideally gained within a complex manufacturing environment.
The Role
- Source and purchase materials, components and services in line with business requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and supply agreements with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality, lead times and delivery.
- Identify cost-saving and continuous-improvement opportunities.
- Manage purchase orders and ensure accurate and timely procurement.
- Support supplier selection, evaluation and development.
- Resolve supply chain issues and manage supplier risks.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports for procurement performance.

- Experience in a Buyer position role gained in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-management abilities.
- Good analytical and organisational skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
