About The Role
Our client, a Tier 1 Investment Bank based in Canary Wharf, is seeking an experienced C# Developer to join a strategic application modernization program. This role is pivotal in supporting the bank’s digital transformation initiatives, focusing on evolving critical business applications from legacy desktop solutions to modern web-based and cloud-enabled platforms. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic technology team responsible for enhancing existing applications, supporting migration efforts to Azure, and contributing to the development of scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software solutions. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development within enterprise environments, with proven experience in C# and related technologies. Essential qualifications include expertise in WPF or WinForms, SQL or Oracle database development, and familiarity with Azure cloud services. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of software design principles, development best practices, and experience working on complex, large-scale projects. A track record of supporting application modernization initiatives, particularly within financial services or investment banking, will be highly advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are also essential qualities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using C#/.NET frameworks, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
- Enhance and support existing desktop applications built with WPF and WinForms, troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements.
- Contribute to the migration of legacy desktop applications towards modern web-based architectures, supporting seamless transition and integration.
- Build and integrate APIs and backend services to facilitate scalable and secure application functionalities.
- Write efficient SQL queries and stored procedures to support application data requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and end-users to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver effective solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, promote development best practices, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the adoption and integration of Azure cloud technologies as part of the broader digital transformation strategy.
