About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior C# Developer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust software applications using the.NET Core framework along with associated web technologies such as React, Blazor, or Angular. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, to understand project requirements, propose innovative solutions, and deliver high-quality, efficient code. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely or from our offices in Godalming or Milton Keynes, depending on your preference and project needs. Given the sensitive nature of some projects, candidates must hold an active Security Clearance (SC). The role provides an exciting opportunity to shape technological solutions for the public sector and beyond, contributing to impactful projects that make a difference at a national level.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 8 years of proven experience as a C# Developer or in a similar software development role. A strong proficiency in C# programming and the.NET Framework, including.NET Core, is essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and experience working within Agile or Scrum methodologies. Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, along with ORM frameworks like Entity Framework, is required. Additionally, experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is highly desirable. Candidates must hold an active SC clearance due to the sensitive nature of the work. A degree or equivalent qualification related to computer science or software engineering is preferred but not mandatory. Certifications demonstrating expertise in relevant areas will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain C# applications, components, and integrated systems that meet client and project requirements.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, product managers, and fellow developers, to understand needs and deliver optimal solutions.
- Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues promptly to optimize application performance and reliability.
- Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in web development and software engineering to bring innovative ideas into projects.
- Document technical specifications, system architecture, and code to facilitate knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, methodologies, and team practices to enhance productivity and quality.
