Senior C#.NET Engineer | Energy Trading | Quantitative Engineering | £140,000 + Bonus + Benefits | Hybrid, LDN

Senior C#.NET Engineer needed for a leading business within the global energy markets, working across Power, Gas, LNG and environmental products. You’ll join a highly technical Quantitative Engineering team developing scalable technology supporting pricing, risk, positions and valuations across complex trading products.

Senior C#.NET Engineer role:

You’ll work closely with front-office users, traders and quantitative teams, developing and supporting enterprise platforms and front-office tools in a fast-paced trading environment. This is a hands-on engineering role covering C#.NET, APIs, backend services, cloud and distributed architecture, with the opportunity to work on complex systems directly supporting the trading business.

Details:

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing high-quality C#.NET software and backend services
  • Working directly with users to understand requirements and deliver solutions
  • Supporting and developing front-office trading tools
  • Designing architecture, data models and system interfaces
  • Working with Quantitative Analytics and Development teams on model integration and performance
  • Working across cloud, containers, APIs and distributed systems
  • Supporting testing, deployment and production issues
  • Taking ownership of complex technical issues and driving them through to resolution

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' software development experience
  • Strong C# /.NET development experience
  • Strong Power, Gas and/or commodities knowledge
  • Experience working within a financial institution / front-office environment
  • Experience with APIs, backend services and cloud
  • Experience with Docker / Kubernetes and distributed architecture
  • SQL Server and/or NoSQL database experience
  • Git and modern CI/CD practices
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with traders/business users
  • Understanding of energy trading and the trade lifecycle
