Role – Senior C# .NET Software Engineer

Contract Type: FTC, 3 month contract

Manager: Lead Development Manager

Location: Hybrid, UK

Role Overview

We are looking for experienced Senior C#.NET Engineers to join an exciting team developing the next generation of a Mid-Sized Fleet Telematics platform. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a business-critical product that is transforming fleet management through innovative technology. You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing modern cloud-based applications using the latest Microsoft technologies while contributing to a product that delivers real value to thousands of customers.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you'll work across the full technology stack, building scalable backend services with.NET Core and Entity Framework built on MongoDB. You will also write automation with Ansible or Terraform. Alongside delivering new features, you'll help improve the technical health of the platform by identifying opportunities to enhance performance, maintainability, and quality. You'll collaborate closely with product owners, engineers, and QA within a highly agile environment, taking ownership of technical decisions and helping to shape the future direction of the platform.

Essential Key Skills and Responsibilities

Essential Skills:

  • Strong C#.NET experience
  • Good understanding of Entity Framework
  • Expertise in MongoDB and SQL
  • Infrastructure automation with Ansible or Terraform
  • Great communicator with ability to hold non-technical and technical conversation with key stakeholders

Desirable Skills:

  • Good knowledge of writing tests and best practices

Tools and Technology:

  • C#.NET
  • Entity Framework
  • MongoDB
  • Ansible or Terraform
  • Agile methodologies

Experience

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work-based experience.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
  • Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
  • Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
  • You are flexible and curious in your approach
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional Information

  • Duration of the contract: initially 3 months – contract FTC (full-time)
