Senior C# Pricing Developer - (Market Risk)

Contract Role (6 Months - View to extend)

Global Investment Bank

Location: London (4 days per week in office)

Rate: £600-750 per day inside IR35

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Risk IT.NET Developer to join a specialist Market Risk and Pricing technology team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, enhancement and modernisation of applications supporting market risk, financial product pricing and risk analytics across a global investment banking environment. The role will involve working across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through to development, testing, deployment and production support. You will work closely with technology teams, risk managers, traders and other stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions across front-to-back risk and pricing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance Market Risk, pricing and risk analytics applications
  • Develop and maintain pricing calculators, risk engines and supporting processes
  • Modernise and migrate legacy.NET applications to.NET Core
  • Design and develop APIs, services and application integrations
  • Develop solutions using C#,.NET/.NET Core, SQL Server and Python
  • Perform performance tuning and optimisation across the application stack
  • Support cloud-based deployment using Docker, Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Develop and maintain microservices and messaging-based architectures
  • Perform rigorous unit, integration and development testing
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve production issues within agreed SLAs
  • Produce high-quality technical design documentation, technical scopes and test plans
  • Work closely with Market Risk Managers, Traders, Project Managers and global technology teams
  • Coordinate development activities across geographically distributed teams
  • Support scheduled overnight and weekend risk processes and post-release activities when required
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to the wider development team

Essential Technical Skills

  • Strong C# and .NET/.NET Framework development experience
  • Practical experience developing.NET Core applications and Web APIs
  • Strong SQL Server development skills
  • Experience with client-side and server-side application development
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, ideally including Azure Data Lake
  • Experience working across Windows and Linux environments
  • Practical experience with Python
  • Strong understanding of microservices and messaging architectures
  • Experience with development tools including GitHub, Jira, TeamCity, Visual Studio and PowerShell
  • Hands-on experience with Control-M batch scheduling
  • Strong unit and integration testing skills
  • Experience developing and supporting large-scale applications covering data capture, processing, pricing and reporting

Market Risk & Financial Markets Experience

  • Strong understanding of Market Risk and VaR calculations
  • Experience working with financial product pricing and risk analytics
  • Experience with market risk, pricing or financial analytics platforms
  • Understanding of financial products, including:
    • Interest Rate Derivatives
    • Mortgage-Backed Securities
    • Repos
    • Securities Borrowing and Lending
    • Agency Lending
    • Bonds
    • Equities
  • Understanding of market data, pricing and risk calculations
  • Experience working with front, middle and back-office system integrations and feeds
  • Experience with systems such as Murex is desirable
  • Experience with cross-asset pricing and risk analytics is advantageous

  • Previous experience in Market Risk, Pricing or Risk Technology
  • Experience supporting middle-office or front-office technology environments
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and trading technology

  • Experience of cloud migration and platform modernisation
  • Experience of large-scale risk infrastructure and distributed systems
  • Experience with cross-asset pricing and risk analytics
  • Experience supporting global technology platforms across multiple regions
  • Experience working with financial pricing engines or market risk platforms
