Senior C++ Software Engineer

Senior C++ Software Engineer required by a growing software business, working within an established product development team.

This is a senior hands-on development position, combining C++ software engineering with responsibility for code quality, technical design, and supporting the wider development team.

You’ll work across both new and existing software products, taking responsibility for development from design through to delivery and contributing to the continued improvement of engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing new software products and functionality
  • Taking development work from initial design through to delivery
  • Contributing to the design and ongoing maintenance of existing products
  • Supporting high-level system design
  • Working collaboratively across multiple technical teams
  • Performing code reviews and helping maintain development standards
  • Contributing to Agile refinement sessions, stand-ups, and sprint reviews
  • Supporting and mentoring other developers within the team

Key Experience Required

  • At least 5 years' commercial C++ development experience
  • Strong software engineering and development fundamentals
  • Experience developing across Linux and Windows environments
  • SQL database experience
  • RESTful API experience
  • XML and JSON
  • Git and/or SVN

Commercial experience with Qt across multiple platforms would be highly desirable.

Experience with Jira and Confluence would also be useful.

This is a fully remote position offering the opportunity to remain technically hands-on while also having input into software design, code quality, and wider engineering practices.
