Studio One Consulting Limited Senior CAD Technician / BIM Manager Job Advert

Studio One is a small, friendly engineering consultancy based in the heart of Manchester's vibrant Northern Quarter. We deliver high-quality engineering design solutions across a diverse range of projects across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, transport and infrastructure, and events and pride ourselves on providing a collaborative, supportive environment where every team member has a genuine impact.

We're looking for an experienced Senior CAD Technician to play a key role in the production and coordination of engineering drawings, support project delivery, and help maintain the high standards our clients expect.

The Role As a Senior CAD Technician, you'll work closely with our Engineers to produce accurate, coordinated drawing packages from concept through to construction. You'll also contribute to the continuous improvement of our design processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality 2D and 3D engineering drawings and models.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings, layouts and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate drawings across multiple disciplines to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Maintain and develop company CAD standards and drawing templates.
  • Review drawings for quality assurance and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support Engineers throughout the design process.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and other consultants where required.
  • Manage workloads and prioritise multiple projects to meet deadlines.

About You You'll be an experienced CAD professional who enjoys taking ownership of your work and being part of a close-knit team.

You'll have:

  • Significant experience in an engineering consultancy environment.
  • Experience in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Revit, Civil 3D or other BIM software.
  • Excellent technical drawing and detailing skills.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and construction documentation.
  • A meticulous eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
