About us
Macmillan Cancer Support exists to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. To help us achieve that, we’re looking for an ambitious and experienced Senior Campaigns Manager to drive high-profile, insight-led campaigns that reach and engage audiences and create meaningful impact. This is an opportunity to work in Macmillan’s Brand, Content and Communication division to mobilise the organisation around creative ideas, audience insight and integrated channel planning to deliver campaigns that make a difference.
About the role
You’ll lead the development and delivery of ambitious, integrated campaigns bringing together colleagues and partners across Macmillan to turn strategic objectives into compelling campaign activity. You’ll lead matrix teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally. A key part of the role will be providing strategic counsel to colleagues and leaders, helping them make informed decisions that consider different audiences, reputational risks and opportunities to build trust in Macmillan. You’ll use audience insight, data and evaluation to shape your approach, continually learning and improving campaign performance. You’ll also manage campaign budgets and ensure activity delivers against agreed objectives. You’ll have the opportunity to work with people living with cancer, high-profile supporters, Macmillan leaders and staff, ensuring they have a positive experience and are well supported to play their part in our campaigns.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
