Vacancy: Senior Cardiac Physiologist
Location: London Medical, Marylebone High Street, London W1U 5HJ
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time / 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £Competitive Annual Salary, plus Benefits.

London Medical is a specialist outpatient and diagnostic centre within Bupa, offering expert consultant-led care across specialties including Cardiology, Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, ENT, Respiratory Medicine, Diabetes, General Practice and Health Assessments.
How You'll Help Us Make Health Happen
As our Senior Cardiac Physiologist, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operational and clinical management of the cardiology service. You will help establish and embed clinical pathways, drive service excellence, ensure robust clinical governance, and provide exceptional patient care.
You will perform and interpret a range of cardiac diagnostic investigations, with ad while leading and developing a small team of Cardiac Physiologists and Cardiac Associates. Flexibility to work in other London sites - Cromwell Hospital, Canary Wharf - were required.
Key Skills / Qualifications
- Perform and independently report high-quality Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) examinations in accordance with BSE standards.
- Conduct and interpret:
- 12-lead ECGs
- Exercise Treadmill Tests
- 24-hour Holter Monitoring
- Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
- Lead and manage daily cardiology operations, ensuring efficient service delivery.
- Develop and implement clinical protocols, policies and governance processes.
- Support departmental readiness for CQC inspections.
- Monitor quality standards, undertake audits and drive continuous service improvement.
- Manage equipment, resources and departmental stock control.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of cardiac professionals.
- Collaborate with consultants, senior clinicians and operational leaders to deliver outstanding patient outcomes.

Essential
- BSc (Hons) in Clinical Cardiac Physiology, Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or equivalent qualification.
- BSE Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) Level 2 Accreditation or EACVI Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography Certification.
- Significant post-qualification clinical experience.
- Experience performing and reporting echocardiograms independently.
- Experience carrying out ECGs, Holter monitoring, BP monitoring and Exercise Treadmill Tests.
- Leadership or supervisory experience within a cardiac diagnostics setting.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to clinical excellence, patient care and continuous professional development.
Desirable
- Stress Echocardiography Accreditation.
- MSc in a Cardiac Physiology-related subject or STP equivalence in Cardiac Imaging.
- Experience leading audits, quality improvement initiatives and service development projects.
