Guthrie House Care Home, located in Edinburgh, provides high quality Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite and Palliative Care in a warm and welcoming environment. Set in the peaceful surroundings of South East Edinburgh, the home is known for its compassionate approach, strong community spirit, and dedication to delivering exceptional care.

Senior Care Assistant (Nightshift) Contract

  • Salary: £14.50 per hour
  • Hours: 38.5 hours per week
  • Shift: Nightshift – 8:00pm to 8:00am
  • Rota: Two week rolling rota provided in advance, helping you plan ahead and achieve a better work life balance
  • Benefits: Paid PVG, pension and uniform provided
  • Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks (based on a full time contract)

As Senior Care Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a safe, supportive and well organised environment throughout the night. Leading by example, you will support residents with their individual needs while providing guidance and reassurance to colleagues across the shift.

Alongside delivering high quality care, you will help oversee the smooth running of the nightshift, support medication administration, maintain accurate records and respond to any changes in residents' wellbeing. Your leadership will help ensure residents feel comfortable, safe and cared for at all times.

This is a role where you can continue to develop your skills, build confidence as a leader and make a genuine difference every night.

What Matters Most

  • Qualifications: SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care
  • Experience: Previous experience within a care environment
  • Additional Skills: Medication administration experience is beneficial
  • Personal Attributes: Confidence supporting colleagues and leading by example, Good communication and organisational skills, A caring, reliable and professional approach
