About The Polegate Care Home
The Polegate Care Home is a 43 bed nursing care home located in Polegate, East Sussex, close to the town centre and the beautiful South Downs. Providing personalised nursing care and short term stays, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment where colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.
Senior Care Assistant Contract
- Pay Rate: £15.70 to £16.30 per hour
- Hours: Contracted to 44 hours per week
- Benefits: Paid PVG/DBS, pension, uniform provided
- Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview
As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.
- Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard.
- Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.
- Maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
- Training: Medication administration training with competency is essential
- Experience: Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
- Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills
- Approach: A caring, compassionate and professional approach
