With our Care Home in Luton, BC&G Homes Ltd is a small, privately-owned company dedicated to providing high quality, long term respite and day care for the elderly, frail and those suffering with dementia. Our emphasis is all about the quality of life our residents enjoy while in our care. As a Senior Care Assistant at BC&G Care Homes Ltd, you will help provide a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for residents.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality personal care and support to residents.
  • Leading and supporting care staff during the shift.
  • Ensuring residents' care needs are met, and care plans are followed.
  • Updating and maintaining residents' care plans and electronic care records accurately and regularly.
  • Communicating effectively with GPs, nurses, district nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Responding appropriately to changes in residents' health and wellbeing and escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Completing accurate care records and daily documentation.
  • Supporting medication procedures in accordance with company policies and training.
  • Communicating professionally with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
  • Using your own initiative to deal with situations that arise during the shift.
  • Promoting dignity, independence, choice and respect at all times.
  • Supporting the smooth running of the care home and maintaining high standards of care.

What we are looking for:

  • Has previous experience working as a Senior Care Assistant/Senior Carer in a dementia care home or similar setting.
  • Holds a Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Is confident using computers and electronic care management systems.
  • Has experience of updating care plans, daily notes, and electronic care records.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Is confident communicating with medical and healthcare professionals.
  • Can work independently and use their own initiative when required.
  • Has good leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Is reliable, caring and professional.
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality, and person-centred care.
  • Is committed to maintaining high standards of care and supporting residents' wellbeing.
