Isle of Wight Sandown
We're looking for an experienced and confident Senior Care & Support Worker to support the day-to-day delivery of high-quality care and support services within our Care & Support team.
Working closely with the Registered Manager and Team Leader, you'll help lead and support the staff team while continuing to deliver person-centred care to residents. You'll play a key role in maintaining standards, supporting staff development, and ensuring care is delivered safely, compassionately, and in line with individual care plans.
This is a hands-on role that combines leadership with direct care. You'll be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of residents and the service, including evenings, weekends, on-call duties, and rota cover where required. The role involves physically demanding work, including moving and handling, and supporting residents through both routine and emergency situations.
You'll be based at Ryde Village, Green Meadows, Furze Brake, or one of our Personal Budget service schemes on the Isle of Wight, depending on the vacancy you've applied for. You may also be required to attend training at other offices or schemes.
About you
You're an experienced care professional with the confidence to support and motivate others while delivering excellent care yourself. You're calm under pressure, organised, and committed to safeguarding, quality, and continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
