Role Description
The Senior Careers Adviser is a full-time, on-site role based in Walsall, supporting learners in making informed choices about education, training, and career pathways. The role involves:

- Providing one-to-one and group guidance sessions
- Delivering careers education activities
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of labour market information and progression routes
- Collaborating with teaching staff, employers, and external partners to create opportunities such as work experience, employer talks, and careers events
- Maintaining accurate records
- Contributing to reports and evaluations
- Ensuring that careers guidance meets relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications
- Relevant careers guidance qualification (e.g., Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development or equivalent) and experience in education or training settings
- Strong advisory and coaching skills, with the ability to conduct structured guidance interviews and group sessions with learners from varied backgrounds
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with learners, staff, and external stakeholders
- Sound understanding of Further Education, apprenticeships, university pathways, and local and national labour market information
- Good organizational and administrative skills, including accurate record-keeping, use of digital guidance tools, and proficiency with standard office software
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, exercise professional judgment, and maintain confidentiality and ethical practice
- Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practice and supporting the progression and wellbeing of all learners
