We are pleased to announce this incredibly exciting opportunity to be part of Qatar Airways, Cargo Operations team as a Senior Cargo Operations Agent in our office in London.

Join the #MovedByPeople family and leave a mark as part of Cargo Operations. We care, we lead and we have fun managing small to large-scale business transformation projects to offer simple service to our customers while connecting global communities.

The role will involve providing Cargo Operations and Customer Service Functions including interaction with Customers and GHA for both Import and Export Cargo. The role will also secure proper Operational and Customer Service support to enable station to meet the Cargo Target as well as ensuring full compliance at all times with all Safety and Security Regulations and Procedures as per Host State and Company Requirements. Identify needs and improve Cargo Service and operational performance for station.

Some of the tasks include:

  • Support the immediate supervisor in developing operational plan and to provide quality customer Support the immediate supervisor in developing operational plan
  • Liaise with Local Ground Handling Agents and with Head Office Cargo Department to ensure/enhance a high-quality service provided by QR both import and export.
  • Responsible for supervision and control of a functional area/station (e.g. the station, cargo operation, freighter ramp operation, freighter aircraft turnaround activities etc.) that has a direct impact on operations.
  • Liaise with external service providers to ensure the operation is safe, secure, compliant and efficient; has satisfactory performance and services provided are up to Qatar Airways standards and expectation.
  • Provides general representation on behalf of Qatar Airways when dealing with external service providers including but not limited to Ground Handling Agent/Cargo Agents, Freight Forwards, Airlines and other entities locally, in coordination with QR headquarters, as required.
  • Liaise with Line Manager and/or Head Office of any Customs/Government regulation change that may affect services and the operation.
  • Report operational Safety, Security and Occupational Health Safety (OHS) related hazards and any incident or accident within cargo operations
  • Continued monitoring of the external service providers at the assigned station(s), through various means, to ensure their performance meets regulatory requirements as well as safety, security, quality, operational and service standards as defined by Qatar Airways.
  • Support the management of freighter aircraft or cargo operations disruptions or emergency situations.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant College or University qualifications with a minimum of 3 years’ experience on the job.
  • Understanding of Air Cargo Operations and Cargo Reservations.
  • Knowledge in Cargo Sales will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of IATA/TACT and Dangerous Goods Regulations.
  • Computer Literate and command of English language.
  • You must have the legal right to live and work in the UK
