The role

You will manage clients who have sustained catastrophic or other complex life-changing injuries, working collaboratively with clients, families, legal teams, insurers, deputies, treating professionals and statutory services.

Your work will include:

• Undertaking Immediate Needs Assessments and preparing clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations.
• Developing, coordinating and reviewing individually tailored rehabilitation and care programmes.
• Appointing and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Commissioning and monitoring therapy, care, equipment, accommodation and other specialist services.
• Monitoring rehabilitation progress, expenditure, risk and outcomes.
• Working effectively within joint and single instructions and within the wider medico-legal framework.
• Maintaining high-quality case-management records and providing timely reports and costings.
• Managing complex professional relationships and expectations.
• Identifying and responding appropriately to clinical, safeguarding and case-management risks.
• Contributing to EWA’s professional profile and wider service development.
• If preferred, mentoring developing Case Managers as EWA’s clinical team grows.

About you

You will be an established Case Manager who is comfortable holding responsibility for complex work and making sound, independent clinical decisions.

You will need:

• Current professional registration as an occupational therapist, physiotherapist or nurse.
• At least ten years’ post-registration or post-qualification clinical experience.
• At least six years’ rehabilitation case-management experience within the personal-injury and/or clinical-negligence sector.
• Demonstrable experience of managing clients with catastrophic or other complex life-changing injuries.
• The ability to manage a meaningful caseload independently and effectively, drawing upon clinical or management support where appropriate.
• Excellent assessment, report-writing, written communication and organisational skills.
• The confidence and experience to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage complex professional relationships.
• A commitment to reflective practice, clinical support, continuing professional development and EWA’s governance standards.
• The capacity and intention to undertake a substantive amount of case-management work through EWA.
• A full UK driving licence, access to a suitable vehicle, motor insurance covering business use and the ability to travel for client and professional meetings.
