Job Description Summary

JOB TITLE: Senior CASS and Accounts Specialist.

SALARY: £40,800pa to £49,800pa plus the benefits listed below.

LOCATION: Edinburgh.

HOURS: Full-time.

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

Do you have CASS and reconciliations experience and enjoy building relationships with customers and colleagues and are looking for a career opportunity? Then there's a role here for you! We are looking for an individual with a broad range of CASS (Client Assets Sourcebook), reconciliations and finance skills.

As a Senior CASS and Accounts Specialist, you’ll be:

  • Undertaking complex CASS technical activities, including bank reconciliations, breach management, financial reporting processes and control activities in line with FCA CASS regulations.
  • Investigating platform data to understand transactional activity. Interpreting data, drawing clear conclusions, identifying root cause analysis and recommending actions to reduce risk and strengthen controls.
  • Providing technical guidance on a range of queries and primary supervision to a small group of colleagues performing junior professional tasks, supporting quality, consistency and effective issue resolution.
  • Assisting with the planning of projects, scheduling of implementations, liaising with technical departments and wide range of internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Assisting senior colleagues, ensure that all work within the area is completed accurately and adheres to specified Group policies, processes and procedures and relevant external regulations where required.

What you’ll need

  • Practical application of CASS 6 & 7 rules, strong reconciliation experience, with the ability to investigate breaks, understand root causes and support timely resolution
  • Understanding of Finance systems and processes, journals and knowledge of double entry
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex transactional data, identify themes or anomalies, assess wider impact and draw clear conclusions
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working accurately under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership, challenge where appropriate and escalate risks or issues early.
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills and ability to work proactively without constant supervision and management oversight
  • Ability to form relationships and communicate
