The Role

As a Senior Catastrophe Modelling Analyst, you will play an important role in helping Accelerant understand, manage, and optimise catastrophe risk across our growing global portfolio. Working across a wide range of risks, natural catastrophe perils, and territories – including the US, UK, Canada, and Europe – you will deliver high-quality catastrophe modelling and exposure analytics to support portfolio management, underwriting, reinsurance, and strategic decision-making.

This is a highly collaborative role with exposure well beyond the Modelling function. You will work closely with Exposure Data, Underwriting, and Ceded Reinsurance teams, as well as with the Risk Exchange, brokers, rating agencies, and other external stakeholders, while helping shape and continuously improve Accelerant's catastrophe modelling and exposure management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and interpret catastrophe modelling results and portfolio analytics across a broad range of risks, territories, and perils.
  • Support exposure management, accumulation monitoring, and PML optimisation, providing insight into key concentrations and emerging areas of risk.
  • Partner with Exposure Data and Underwriting to improve exposure data quality, validation, and harmonisation across the Group.
  • Work closely with Ceded Reinsurance to provide catastrophe analytics to inform the Group's catastrophe treaty strategy and purchasing decisions.
  • Support Risk Capital partners, insurers, and reinsurers with high-quality modelling, portfolio analysis, and external reporting, while collaborating with brokers and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the automation and continued development of the Group's catastrophe modelling capabilities, improving efficiency, scalability, and the depth of analytical insight to the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
