Senior Category Manager
Warwick (3 day hybrid)
Salary: up to £80,000 DOE
About the Retailer:
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a successful specialist retailer committed to delivering great products, exceptional value, and a best-in-class service. They are looking for an experienced Senior Buying Manager or Senior Category Manager to lead category strategy, build compelling product ranges, and drive commercial performance.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded professional who combines strong market insight with excellent supplier management and a passion for delivering products customers love.
The Role:
You will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that maximize sales, margin, and market share across a broad product portfolio. You will lead the category management process end-to-end — from range planning and supplier negotiations to pricing, promotions, and performance analysis.
Leading a team, you will also work cross-functionally, working harmoniously with the wider business and will ensure the product offer remains competitive, relevant, and aligned with customer demand.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
