Role: Senior Category Manager

Location: Leeds, LS15 8GB. We operate a hybrid schedule, 1-2 days in the office per week.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum DOE, plus up to a 10% annual bonus and our extensive benefits

Contract type: Permanent

Employment type: Full time

Working hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week. We work on a core hours principle. Our core hours are 09:30 - 16:00; you can work around these to suit you!

As Senior Category Manager, you will:

  • Own the strategic condition and category management of the Lloyds and Pharmacy2U Online Doctor propositions.
  • Drive sustainable category growth by developing and executing data‑led strategies that optimise range, pricing, promotions and commercial performance.
  • Enhance customer experience and clinical access while maximising profitability, balancing customer needs, regulatory requirements and commercial objectives.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Medical, Commercial, Marketing, Product, Operations and external partners to deliver cohesive, customer‑centric propositions that strengthen market leadership and long‑term value.
  • Use insight, performance analytics and market trends to identify growth opportunities, optimise portfolio performance, and continuously evolve the propositions in line with customer expectations and business strategy.

What you'll be doing?

  • Own and deliver end‑to‑end category strategy for the Online Doctor propositions, partnering with the Head of Commercial to drive growth, profitability and market‑leading positioning.
  • Lead pricing, margin and promotional strategies to optimise commercial performance while remaining competitive and customer‑focused.
  • Use sales performance, customer behaviour and market insight to inform data‑driven decisions, identify trends and unlock new growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with Clinical teams to optimise treatment mix, support innovation and ensure propositions reflect evolving customer and market needs.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Creative teams to deliver compelling campaigns that drive acquisition, conversion and engagement.
  • Partner with Web Merchandising to enhance on‑site experience, improve conversion and maximise e‑commerce performance.
  • Work with Supply Chain to ensure optimal stock availability, minimising risk while supporting demand and growth targets.
  • Lead financial planning and P&L delivery in partnership with Finance, managing sales, margin and marketing income against budgeted KPIs.
  • Monitor, report and communicate category performance to senior stakeholders on a weekly basis, providing clear insights, risks and recommendations.
  • Champion customer value, accessibility and quality across categories, driving initiatives that strengthen satisfaction, loyalty and long‑term retention.

Who are we looking for?

  • Proven commercial acumen with a strong track record of delivering sales growth, margin improvement and profitability within e‑commerce or regulated retail environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in category management within retail, pharmacy, healthcare or similarly complex, regulated sectors.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret sales, customer and market data to generate clear, actionable insights and inform strategic decision‑making.
  • Experienced in managing categories in an e‑commerce environment, with awareness of on‑site merchandising, conversion drivers and digital trading performance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across Commercial, Clinical, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Digital teams.
  • Hands‑on problem solver with high levels of flexibility, resilience and tenacity, able to prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners or suppliers.
  • Strong understanding and appreciation of operating within ethical, clinical and regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliant and responsible commercial decision‑making.
  • Competent user of Excel and PowerPoint at an intermediate level, with the ability to analyse, present and communicate performance clearly to senior stakeholders.
