This role is being advertised by Brightwork who are recruiting for our client in Falkirk and we require a Temporary Senior Catering Assistant / Supervisor for our clients site.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Catering Assistant / Supervisor to work in a busy canteen environment based in Falkirk.
Your Time at Work
Hours of work are on a rota basis:
- 35 hours per week
- This role is shift based
- Shift hours are between 6am and 7.00pm
- There may also be a requirement for occasional evening/ weekend work
As a Senior Catering Assistant the main duties include the following:
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- To support and assist the Catering Manager (deputising where required) in the delivery of the catering provision
- Monitor service delivery at meal times to ensure that standards and procedures are consistently maintained
- Supervise and engage with the catering assistants and placements
- Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with current legislative practice and in conjunction with the Food Safety Scotland guidelines
- Completion of all routine administration and communications relevant to local and national requirements (weekly checks, food safety checks etc.)
- Monitor food waste and manage stock levels advising the Catering Manager when stock is coming to its end of shelf life or needs to be replenished
- Assist in the planning of menus, stock ordering and catering to meet the dietary needs of all college users

- Minimum of current Food Hygiene Certificate
- Experience of Catering / Cooking within a commercial catering environment.
- Proven track record of working within a similar environment
- Proven knowledge of current legislative requirements and statutory compliance
