About The Role

The Senior Catering Engineer position, based in the City Of London, commands a salary between £45,000 and £55,000 per annum on a full-time basis. The Company

Our client is a well-established specialist engineering company with over 15 years of successful operation within the commercial building services sector. They are a growing business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality service and maintenance solutions across London and the Southeast.

Working predominantly with hotels, restaurants, golf clubs, and other commercial customers, the company specialises in refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, catering equipment, and gas services.

As part of their continued growth plans, they are looking to strengthen their catering division by appointing an experienced Senior Catering Engineer who can play a key role in the development of the department.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Catering Engineer to join a growing business and help establish and develop its catering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding, and repairing a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment across hotels, restaurants, and other commercial environments.

In addition to carrying out engineering duties, this position offers a supervisory element. The successful individual will work closely with the office team, supporting the operational side of the business by helping secure parts, coordinating subcontractors, and contributing towards the ongoing growth of the catering division.

This role would suit someone looking to step into a senior position where they can have a genuine influence on the direction and success of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintenance, repair, and fault finding on commercial catering equipment.
  • Attend reactive breakdowns and planned maintenance visits.
  • Diagnose faults and provide effective repair solutions.
  • Assist with the sourcing and ordering of replacement parts.
  • Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors where required.
  • Support the development and growth of the catering department.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, management, and office staff.
  • Provide technical support and guidance where appropriate.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience working as a Commercial Catering Engineer.
  • COMCAT 1, 2, 3 & 5 qualifications.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Positive and proactive approach to work.

Also Considered

  • Candidates without gas qualifications may still be considered if they have strong experience working on commercial catering appliances and kitchen equipment.
