Senior CDM Principal Designer - £40,000-£60,000 - Manchester/ Liverpool
The Role
Are you an experienced CDM professional who enjoys taking ownership of complex projects and helping clients achieve high standards of health and safety? Would you like to join a growing consultancy where your expertise is valued, your development is supported and no two projects are quite the same?
We are looking for an experienced Senior CDM Principal Designer to join a growing consultancy team. You will manage CDM compliance across projects in the residential, industrial and rail sectors, acting as a trusted safety advisor to clients, designers and wider project teams.
This is a varied role where you will build strong relationships, take ownership of projects and use your expertise to make a real difference. You will play an important role in delivering high-quality CDM compliance while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Principal Designer duties and ensure statutory compliance from start to finish.
- Manage CDM compliance across multiple projects.
- Advise clients and designers on their CDM responsibilities.
- Carry out thorough site health and safety inspections.
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, developers and designers.
- Produce compliant RAMS and robust site safety documentation.
- Chair CDM hazard meetings, maintain trackers and liaise with designers.
- Prepare fee proposals and support accurate, prompt invoicing.
- Develop bespoke health and safety policies, procedures and templates where required.
- Apply knowledge of ISO 45001 to provide additional strategic value.

The Person
You will have:
- NEBOSH Diploma, Degree in Health and Safety or equivalent
- APS or IOSH membership
- Strong knowledge and practical application of the CDM Regulations 2015
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations
- Experience as a CDM Principal Designer or CDM Consultant
Desirable experience includes Fire Risk Assessments, Building Regulations duties, HRB projects and the rail sector. Experience with Building Regulations Schedule 1 and ISO 45001 would also be beneficial.
