Role Overview
Successful Candidate Requirements
- Registered Nurse (Mental Health or Adult) with current UK NMC registration.
- Recognised Non-Medical Prescriber qualification (V300 or equivalent).
- Educated to degree level or have equivalent experience, with clear evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification and/or leadership training would be advantageous.
Experience Required
- Significant post-registration experience within mental health and/or substance use services.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing acute and complex presentations.
- High level of clinical expertise in assessment, risk management, and the formulation of person-centred care plans, ideally within community settings.
- Experience of multidisciplinary and multi-agency working.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across professional boundaries to deliver integrated care.
- Experience of supporting, supervising, or mentoring staff.
Skills and Knowledge
- Highly developed clinical assessment skills, including the ability to provide differential diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
- Strong understanding of mental health, substance use, and recovery-focused approaches.
- Sound knowledge of prescribing practice, clinical governance, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with individuals, families, carers, and colleagues across services.

Leadership and Organisational Skills
- Strong leadership capability.
- Ability to contribute to service improvement, support the development of advanced nursing practice, and assist in the supervision of Non-Medical Prescribers.
- Effective organisational skills.
- Sound clinical judgement.
- Ability to prioritise and manage a complex workload in a dynamic environment.
- Experience of contributing to education and training programmes would be beneficial.

Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel across Perth and Kinross is required in order to meet the needs of the service.
- Must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN3 or RNMH of the UK NMC Register.
