SENIOR CHARTERED BUILDING SURVEYOR | BRISTOL

📍 Bristol and the South West
🏡 Hybrid: 60% office/client sites, 40% home
📄 Permanent position

Are you an MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor looking for greater variety, autonomy and ownership of your client work?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join a commercial building consultancy in Bristol. You will manage a varied portfolio of professional and project-led instructions from the initial brief through to completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building condition and pre-acquisition surveys
  • Technical due diligence and defect diagnosis
  • Dilapidations and schedules of condition
  • Refurbishment, repair and maintenance projects
  • Preparing specifications and schedules of work
  • Tendering, procurement and contract administration
  • Employer’s Agent and project delivery duties
  • Party Wall, CDM and Building Regulations matters
  • Managing clients, contractors and stakeholders
  • Preparing fee proposals and developing repeat business
  • Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors

What we’re looking for:

  • MRICS Chartered status
  • Current experience within commercial building consultancy
  • A strong background in professional surveying services
  • Experience delivering refurbishment and maintenance projects
  • Excellent technical reporting and commercial judgement
  • Confidence managing multiple instructions independently
  • A valid UK driving licence

Experience across commercial offices, industrial and logistics, retail, mixed-use, education, healthcare or student accommodation would be particularly relevant.

Surveyors from small or mid-sized consultancies are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates from larger firms will also be considered if they can demonstrate broad, hands-on experience across multiple service areas.
