About the Role

As a result of Hollis’ desire to continue expanding our surveying team, we are strengthening our North East surveying team in Newcastle. You will be taking on a variety of commercial instructions including offices, retail, industrial sheds/warehouses as well as residential and more. ESG and sustainability are at the forefront of our expertise, so we can offer you the opportunity to work with some of Hollis’ key stakeholders and clients on innovative solutions and projects.

We’re keen to hear from anyone able to hit the ground running who is looking for a lucrative opportunity with exposure to a variety of high-profile clients. You will have the opportunity to pick up other areas of surveying as desired across project and professional surveys including Dilapidation/pre-acquisition surveys, party wall, contract administration etc.

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing a healthy pipeline of multi-skilled building surveying instructions, or specialising in projects of professional if preferred
  • Take the lead on instructions within various commercial sectors (office, retail etc). including dilapidations, TDD, LTA's, Tenant Alterations, Contract Administration an more
  • Effectively managing a strong pipeline of work and act as a key point of contact for a variety of (predominantly) blue-chip, private clients as well as some public sector
  • Actively contribute to the development of service offering, support junior surveyors/graduates and the wider team
  • Take on more business development responsibilities, source new work, cross-sell Hollis' services and network to grow your client base across the North region
  • Provide excellent client care, take ownership and manage relationships effectively
  • Act as project lead, running the project from start to finish including invoicing, specifications, budgets and WIP
  • Collaborate with neighbouring offices across the Midlands region

Requirements

  • MRICS building surveyor
  • Experience carrying out and delivering building surveying instructions efficiently within the commercial real estate sectors
  • Good understanding of project work and/or technical surveying areas such as dilapidations, TDD
  • Commercially minded, comfortable acting as the main contact for clients and stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Confident to project lead and take ownership of work
  • Excellent communicator and ability to manage workload effectively
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
