Senior Chef de Partie
We’re looking for a Senior Chef de Partie to join the team at The Parakeet.
Located in the heart of Kentish Town, The Parakeet is an independent public house and dining room. In the front, a lively neighbourhood pub. In the back, an award-winning dining room serving Basque-inspired small plates cooked over fire and coal.
We’re proud to be listed in the Michelin Guide, and we work with some of the best suppliers in the country, focusing on incredible fresh produce and ingredients that speak for themselves. Led by chef Ben Allen, the kitchen has received critical acclaim from The Times, The Evening Standard, and more.
This is a kitchen where standards are high and consistency matters. Every dish is built around quality ingredients, fire cooking and thoughtful execution. It’s a team that takes real pride in the details.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
