As a Senior Chemist, you will play a key role in the creation, development and optimisation of manufacturing processes and products that support Nufarm's current and future business needs. Working within our Technical team, you will apply your expertise in chemistry and formulation science to develop new products, improve manufacturing performance, and support the successful transfer of technology from laboratory to production.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence innovation, contribute to process improvements, and provide technical leadership across Nufarm's European manufacturing network and tolling partners.

How You'll Help Us Grow
- Develop and optimise process routes for new products and manufacturing technologies.
- Design, conduct and evaluate laboratory studies to support future manufacturing processes.
- Invent, develop and characterise the performance of speciality chemical and pesticide formulations.
- Support process scale-up activities, including the preparation of technical transfer and manufacturing documentation.
- Analyse technical data and provide support during commissioning and implementation of new manufacturing processes.
- Drive process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, yield, sustainability, environmental impact and operational safety.
- Contribute to process safety reviews, including HAZOP and related studies.
- Provide technical expertise and support to manufacturing sites, tolling partners and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Deliver training and technical guidance to colleagues across Nufarm's global technical community.
- Lead technical projects and teams when required to deliver strategic business objectives.
Could This Be You?
We're looking for a highly motivated scientist who combines strong technical expertise with a practical approach to problem-solving.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
- A PhD in Chemistry (preferred) or a degree-level qualification in Chemistry.
- Significant experience in organic, applied or process chemistry gained within an R&D environment.
- Demonstrated success in process development and continuous improvement within a complex chemical manufacturing environment.
- Experience transferring chemical processes from laboratory or pilot scale into manufacturing operations.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and operational teams.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- A commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.
- Flexibility to travel within Europe and internationally as required by the business.

The salary range is between: 37K - 47K GBP.
