Senior C&I Engineer

Location: Capenhurst
Duration: 12 months
Rates: £60-£70 per hour, inside via umbrella

We are seeking a Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer (Design Engineering) to join our Group Design Engineering team based at Urenco's Capenhurst site. In this role, you will deliver Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) services, including technical feasibility and Best Available Technology (BAT) studies, for a variety of Urenco projects globally. As the Senior C&I Engineer, you will oversee the Conceptual and Basic Design of new builds or facility modifications, providing direction and oversight to third-party engineering service providers to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will also play a crucial role in developing Urenco's design standards to meet world-class safety and regulatory requirements, helping Urenco maintain its position as a preferred supplier within the nuclear enrichment sector. Your expertise will inform plant design specifications, asset management strategies, CapEx planning, and safety protocols, enhancing our safety and operational efficiency.

At Urenco, we are dedicated to creating opportunities for you to realise your potential. If you feel you meet most, but not all, of the requirements, we encourage you to apply, as we value diverse experience and provide exceptional training and development. You'll also have the opportunity to be mentored by some of the industry's most knowledgeable professionals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
