Role: Senior Cisco Network Engineer
Location: Leicester, UK (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Benefits
This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you'll become the technical escalation point for an experienced infrastructure team, providing expert guidance on complex Cisco networking challenges while helping shape the future of a business-critical network estate.
Supporting an environment of over 7,000 endpoints, 1,600+ Cisco LAN devices and 220+ WAN links, you'll play a key role in maintaining, optimising and evolving a predominantly Cisco network.
What You'll Be Doing
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for Network and Infrastructure Engineers.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineers working across the Cisco estate.
- Configure, maintain and optimise Cisco network infrastructure across a large multi-site environment.
- Design, implement and troubleshoot complex LAN, WAN and Wireless networking solutions.
- Lead the resolution of high-level networking incidents and provide 3rd line support.
- Deliver network upgrades, migrations and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Strengthen network resilience, performance and security.
- Work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to deliver successful projects.

Essential Experience
This role is heavily weighted towards advanced Cisco networking within a large enterprise environment. We're looking for someone with extensive hands-on experience across Cisco technologies who can confidently lead from a technical standpoint.
- Advanced Cisco routing and switching experience.
- Strong commercial experience supporting enterprise LAN, WAN and Wireless networks.
- Advanced practical experience with BGP, OSPF and EIGRP in production environments.
- Strong understanding of network security best practices.
- CCNA, CCNP or equivalent commercial experience.
- Advanced experience with Cisco Firepower Management Centre (FMC).
- Advanced experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Advanced experience with Cisco Passive Identity Connector (ISE-PIC).
- Advanced experience with Cisco Catalyst switching.
- Advanced experience with Cisco Wireless technologies.
- Experience operating within a large-scale enterprise network supporting thousands of endpoints and multiple sites.
- The ability to act as the senior escalation point, providing technical advice, guidance and leadership to experienced engineers across the team.

- Enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, Exchange and SharePoint.
- Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
- PowerShell, Ansible or Terraform.
- Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP.
