Senior Civil Design Engineer - Water

Location: Manchester (Office-based / Hybrid with site visits)

Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE + Pension

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Office based with hybrid flexibility

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce civil engineering design deliverables that meet safety, quality and technical standards
  • Develop efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits
  • Prepare calculations, reports, specifications and design risk assessments
  • Direct and support CAD technicians, graduates and junior engineers
  • Ensure compliance with water company, industry and professional standards
  • Manage design changes and ensure they are fully implemented and recorded
  • Estimate design hours and support programme planning
  • Attend and present designs at HAZOP, ALM, KM and similar meetings

Requirements

  • 5+ years' civil design experience within the UK regulated water industry
  • Experience producing hydraulic calculations and hydraulic profiles
  • HND, degree or equivalent experience from technician level
  • Registered with a professional body and working toward chartership
  • Strong technical capability, communication and organisational skills
  • Experience across clean water, wastewater and infrastructure projects (desirable)
  • Chartered Engineer status (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable)
