Senior Civil Engineer

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Civil Engineer with 5+ years’ experience to support our growing team.

Company Overview

We are an Exeter-based, award-winning consultancy providing specialist development planning and infrastructure services to the property industry. Originally founded in 2012, our team of transport planners, civil engineers and technicians has grown to over 40 strong, and we are privileged to be working on some of the most prestigious development projects in the south west. We are also proud to hold the Investors in People Gold Standard, awarded in recognition of the support we provide to all colleagues to help develop their knowledge, skills and experience.

The Role

Working within one of our infrastructure design teams, the varied role will focus on providing engineering input to the planning/RM phase of projects and supporting the delivery of schemes all the way through the detailed design and technical approval stages.

We provide our team with excellent opportunities to get involved in all aspects of our infrastructure planning and design work with both internal and external training and mentoring provided as required. You can expect to be working on a number of projects at any given time for multiple clients and so the role will offer great variety.

About You

With a degree in Civil Engineering and around 5 years’ already under your belt working in the industry, we are looking for candidates that have gained some experience supporting the delivery of highway infrastructure and:

  • Are confident with the application of industry design standards and best practice (e.g. Manual for Streets, DMRB, LTN 1/20)
  • Hold proficiency in AutoCAD, with a great eye for detail and quality
  • Have experience in providing engineering input to development masterplans, analysis of site levels, and preparing preliminary highway/drainage scheme drawings for planning applications
  • Enjoy a sound working knowledge of the detailed design and S104/S38/S278 approvals process
  • Have some familiarity with Site 3D and FLOW software (although we can provide full training for that if your experience to date is based on using a different design package)
  • Possess good communication skills and have an ability to demonstrate effective teamwork
  • Have some experience of guiding, training or mentoring junior members of staff
