Senior Civil Engineer
Location: Birmingham / Hybrid
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing design consultancy and provide technical design support across a range of UK-based residential development projects, with ongoing work available and excellent development opportunities for the right individual.
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be working predominantly on residential projects and should be able to demonstrate strong experience completing civil engineering design within the residential development sector. You will take responsibility for delivering accurate reports, calculations, and designs, while providing technical input and contributing to the continued development of the engineering team.
The role will suit a confident Senior Civil Engineer with around 10 years’ experience who is comfortable taking the lead on projects, managing design delivery, and dealing directly with clients and other project stakeholders. You should be someone who is happy to get stuck into the technical detail when required, while also providing guidance and support to more junior engineers and CAD technicians.
As part of your responsibilities as a Senior Civil Engineer, your ability to lead projects and provide technical guidance will be invaluable in supporting the continued development of the civil engineering team and the high level of service provided to clients.

About You
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working for UK-based design consultancies, with a strong background in residential development projects.
In addition to having a confident, commercial, and professional outlook, you should have:
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years’ UK-based civil engineering design experience
- Strong experience working on residential development projects
- Experience leading civil engineering projects and managing design delivery
- Experience working with drainage design and flood risk assessments
- Strong understanding of drainage strategies and SuDS
- Experience working to appropriate agreement sections, inc S38, S278, S104 & S106
- Experience with highways, infrastructure, levels, and earthworks would be advantageous
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical design skills
- Ability to provide guidance and support to junior engineers and CAD technicians
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership of projects and deliverables
Software required:
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with relevant drainage and civil engineering design software would be advantageous

- Salary of £50,000 – £55,000, depending on experience
