Senior Civil Engineer (SC Cleared)
Plymouth (Hybrid - Site-Based)
10-month contract
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the delivery of major infrastructure projects within a highly regulated engineering environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior civil engineering professional with experience in complex infrastructure, marine, nuclear, defence, or heavy civil projects to provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from design assurance through to construction support and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering activities across complex infrastructure projects.
- Manage engineering support throughout project delivery.
- Support project optioneering and technical decision-making.
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings and technical documentation.
- Respond to Technical Queries (TQs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Manage detailed design activities and ensure compliance with project standards.
- Undertake technical assessment and approval of contractor work instructions, method statements and risk assessments.
- Provide technical supervision during construction and deconstruction activities.
- Support commissioning and decommissioning activities where required.
- Work closely with contractors, designers and wider project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Security and Quality requirements.
- Contribute to technical knowledge sharing and professional development within the team.

Essential Experience
- Significant experience delivering civil engineering solutions on complex infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrable experience in design assurance and technical governance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Experience managing engineering inputs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Background within heavily regulated environments.
- Experience reviewing and approving engineering documentation and design packages.

Essential Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a relevant STEM discipline.
- Active SC Clearance.
- UK National.
- Demonstrable technical competence and relevant industry experience.
