Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Our client, a leading Tier 1 Contractor within the UK water sector, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working within a multi-disciplinary environment, you will be responsible for ensuring designs are compliant, fit for purpose, delivered on time and within budget, while supporting the development of junior engineers and driving engineering excellence across project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and civil engineering expertise across multiple projects.
- Review and check civil design deliverables to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Support Construction Design Management (CDM) and commissioning strategy activities.
- Review and ensure completion of all required CDM design deliverables.
- Promote technical best practice and share knowledge across the civil engineering team.
- Ensure compliance with asset standards and challenge designs where improvements can be identified.
- Work collaboratively across project teams to establish and maintain common engineering standards and processes.
- Support the implementation of digital engineering solutions, including fully attributed 3D models.
- Mentor, coach, and develop junior and less experienced engineers.
- Provide technical guidance and support to individuals and project teams.
- Drive continuous improvement through the development of technical guidance and design alerts.

About You

- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
- Strong technical expertise in reinforced concrete, steel structures, buried pipework, and site infrastructure.
- Proven experience delivering engineering designs within a regulated infrastructure environment.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and risk management in design.
- Passion for innovative and practical engineering solutions.
