Senior Civil Engineer

London | £40,000–£55,000 + Benefits

A growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to join its London team.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to take genuine ownership of projects, work directly with clients and third parties, and help oversee and develop junior engineers. The consultancy works across civil, structural, geotechnical, and transport planning, providing a varied project environment and the opportunity to shape your own technical and career development.

The Role

  • Managing projects from inception through to delivery
  • Liaising directly with clients and third parties
  • Coordinating project engineers and technicians
  • Taking technical ownership of drawings, calculations, reports, and design documentation
  • Reviewing and overseeing junior engineers
  • Managing technical, commercial, and health & safety risks
  • Supporting project briefs, fee proposals, resource planning, and programmes
  • Identifying opportunities for additional work with existing clients
  • Analysing technical problems and developing practical engineering solutions
  • Using software including AutoCAD, Causeway Flow, and Civil 3D

About You

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong consultancy experience
  • Proven experience delivering and leading civil engineering projects
  • Client and stakeholder management experience
  • Strong technical design and problem-solving skills
  • Experience mentoring or overseeing junior engineers
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • ICE chartered or close to chartership would be desirable
