Senior Civil Engineer – Leicester
Our client is an established and highly regarded engineering consultancy with an experienced civil engineering design team. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Leicester office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineer with around 4 – 10 years’ experience to take the next step in their career, working on a diverse range of projects across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
The Role
As Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and drafting of a wide range of civil engineering schemes, including:
- Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
- Private external works
- Section 38 highway works
- Section 104 drainage works for adoption
- Civil engineering infrastructure for residential developments
- Industrial and commercial developments
- Projects ranging from small housing schemes to multi-storey developments
Project values typically range from £250,000 to £30 million, providing excellent variety and the opportunity to work on technically challenging schemes.

Many projects are delivered to BIM Level 2, and you will work with industry-standard design software including MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D and PDS, with final technical drawings produced using AutoCAD.
You will also have the opportunity to deputise for the Team Leader, supporting the planning and organisation of workloads, resources and project delivery to ensure schemes are completed on time and in line with current design standards and guidelines.
About You
We are looking for a technically capable and motivated Civil Engineer who is keen to progress their career within a supportive consultancy environment.
You will ideally have:
- Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and PDS.
- Experience with InfoDrainage or MicroDrainage.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and relevant design standards.
- A good understanding of basic health and safety requirements.
- A logical and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and other project stakeholders.

Career Development
The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training and ongoing support to further develop their technical and project management skills.
You will work closely with experienced members of the civil engineering team and receive additional mentoring and support towards achieving Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
