Senior Structural Design Engineer

Location: Grangemouth, Scotland

Contract: Long-term Contract | Outside IR35

Working Pattern: Flexible Hybrid Working

Our client is a leading engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects across the UK water sector. Due to continued success and a strong pipeline of AMP8 work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer on a long-term Outside IR35 contract to support the delivery of a wide range of projects from their Grangemouth office.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business working on high-profile schemes that play a key role in improving and maintaining critical water and wastewater infrastructure.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of structural design solutions across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will be responsible for producing and reviewing structural designs from concept through to detailed design, ensuring technical excellence, programme delivery and compliance with client standards.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience delivering both water infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, with the ability to work across a variety of reinforced concrete, steel and civil structures commonly found within water treatment and wastewater treatment environments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
