Job Title
Teesside based + £47/hour Outside IR35 + 40 hour week + immediate start + 12 month contract & rolling
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Civils Quality Engineer to support a major UK energy and infrastructure project in Teesside.
Reporting to the Project Quality Manager, you will act as a key quality focal point across contractors and subcontractors, ensuring project activities are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, project quality plans, procedures, specifications and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Quality Manager in implementing project quality requirements.
- Provide quality assurance and quality control support across civils and infrastructure works.
- Act as the focal point for quality and inspection activities with contractors and subcontractors.
- Carry out quality surveillance and inspection activities both on-site and off-site.
- Review and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and associated inspection requirements.
- Coordinate and mobilise third-party inspectors where required.
- Participate in technical reviews, quality meetings and audits.
- Review inspection records, quality documentation and progressive sign-off requirements.
- Monitor contractor compliance with project quality plans, procedures and specifications.
- Review and support the close-out of NCRs, defects and quality issues.
- Review and approve progressive quality documentation and final data dossiers.
- Support the preparation and review of quality plans, procedures and inspection strategies.
- Liaise closely with construction, engineering, project and contractor teams.
- Provide quality reporting and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement.

Essential Experience
- 5+ years' experience in quality, QA/QC or inspection roles.
- Experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, energy or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong civils/construction quality experience.
- Experience with ITPs, inspection records, NCRs and quality documentation.
- Experience undertaking contractor/subcontractor quality surveillance.
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- Experience reviewing final manufacturing data books / quality dossiers.
- HNC or equivalent technical/quality qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems/software.

Desirable
- CQI membership.
- Quality auditing experience, including knowledge of ISO 19011.
- Experience with project quality management software.
- Experience within major energy or net-zero infrastructure projects.
- Experience with formal lessons-learned / continuous improvement processes.
