Senior Claims Adjuster

Location: Leeds

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Hours: Full-time

Overview

Our client, an international insurer, is seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster to manage complex Motor and Casualty claims valued between £100,000 and £500,000.

You will investigate and resolve complex and specialist claims, provide technical guidance to colleagues and support the delivery of the wider claims strategy. The role combines hands-on claims management with mentoring, stakeholder engagement, and portfolio oversight.

This is a hybrid role offering responsibility for high-value claims alongside opportunities to support training and continuous improvement across the claims function.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex Motor and Casualty claims valued up to £500,000.
  • Investigate policy coverage and resolve complex, specialist, disputed, and material claims.
  • Identify and address subrogation, contribution, and recovery issues.
  • Act as a technical referral point and mentor Claims Adjusters and Technicians.
  • Support claims leadership in delivering the claims strategy and provide bespoke training and guidance.
  • Manage estimates, billings, and discrepancies with clients and brokers.
  • Oversee claims handled by panel solicitors to support timely and economical resolution.
  • Maintain accurate reserves, update internal systems, and contribute to management reporting and portfolio monitoring.

Requirements

  • Proven experience handling Employers' Liability/Public Liability and Motor claims up to £500,000.
  • Strong understanding of relevant compliance, regulatory, and statutory frameworks.
  • Strong investigative and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to resolve claims with a practical, solution-focused approach.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship and collaborative working skills.
  • Ability to present insights and contribute to continuous improvement.
