We are seeking an experienced Adjuster / Insurance Professional to join the Professional Indemnity Claims Team a known for its high standards of technical excellence, integrity and client service.

You’ll have the opportunity to manage a varied and engaging portfolio of professional indemnity claims, spanning a wide range of professions including solicitors, construction professionals, IFAs, accountants, surveyors and emerging sectors. You’ll be trusted to deliver high‑quality, consistent claims handling, working with integrity and sound judgement throughout the lifecycle of each matter.

The role offers significant exposure to collaborative working, partnering closely with internal teams such as underwriters, actuaries and finance, while also building strong, constructive relationships with external clients including brokers and insurers. You’ll be part of a highly collaborative team environment, contributing to shared business objectives and developing your expertise through cradle‑to‑grave claims handling within an insurance setting.

This role offers remote working, with occasional travel to a local office for client meetings or team collaboration as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of UK Professional Indemnity claims from notification through to resolution.
  • Review and investigate claim notifications, correspondence and technical documentation to assess liability, exposure and resolution strategy.
  • Interpret policy wordings and identify potential coverage issues.
  • Apply knowledge of claims-made principles, exclusions, conditions, aggregation and excess/deductible provisions when assessing claims.
  • Handle both routine claims and technically complex or high-value matters.
  • Identify matters requiring escalation and provide clear recommendations to insurers.
  • Negotiate and settle claims where appropriate, ensuring accurate financial and claims administration.
  • Build effective relationships with insurers, brokers, insureds and other stakeholders while delivering excellent client service.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience handling UK Professional Indemnity claims from notification through to resolution.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Professional Indemnity insurance, including policy coverage and wording interpretation.
  • Understanding of claims-made principles, exclusions, conditions, aggregation and excess/deductible issues.
  • Experience managing both routine claims and technically complex or high-value matters.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify issues requiring escalation and provide clear recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently while managing a varied caseload.

Desirable

  • Proficient with all Microsoft products particularly Excel. Knowledge of basic formulas and pivot tables with ability to manipulate and summarise data.
  • Experience of handling professional indemnity claims across several professions, particularly:
    • Solicitors
    • Accountants
    • Surveyors
    • Architects and Engineers
    • Construction professionals
    • Insurance brokers
    • Miscellaneous professions
