Role Purpose

To assist on the delivery of the Claims Business Plan through management of claims issues arising from a designated book of business and development of nominated client relationships.

Role responsibilities:

  • Delivery, through personal ownership and via the team, of a first-class service to all customers.
  • Management of a portfolio of claims including more complex claims in the team - this may be achieved by personal ownership, working with a more experienced colleague, or by oversight of a Claims Adjuster.
  • Ownership of personal appraisal and objectives to include personal training and development to support the delivery of the Claims Business Plan.
  • Ownership of nominated client relationships to ensure the delivery of Claims services to support and develop business objectives.
  • Liaison with Underwriting team(s) regarding claims and wording issues at an individual and market level and to support profitable development of account(s).
  • Ensuring fair customer outcomes and commerciality when decision making.
  • To have a clear understanding of the company's risk appetites in terms of delegated authority, conduct, and financial crime.
  • Championing the company values and working in accordance with the organizational behaviors.
  • To be aware of and comply with the relevant rules and regulations in relation to financial crime & conduct.

Technical Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of handling Special Risk claims (Political Risk, Trade Credit, Political Violence) in the Lloyd’s market.
  • An interest in handling a variety of business lines including Cyber, Intellectual Property, and Product Recall.
  • In-depth knowledge of the workings of the London market especially with regards to core business classes.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the market practices and duties and obligations of the parties.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, ECF.
