I am currently partnered with a leading Lloyd's Syndicate who are seeking a Claims Adjuster to join their Property team on a 12M FTC basis.

You will be responsible for handling a mixture of Property Binders/D&F Claims from notice to settlement, particularly in the US.

My client is looking for someone with Property Claims experience from a Lloyd's environment, someone competent with ECF and Lloyd's Claims Schemes, and someone who can be available or can start the role ASAP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adjust claims within the agreed Claims Authority in accordance with the company's Claims Philosophy and Claims Protocols, as well as Lloyd's Claims Principles and sub-principles.
  • Take responsibility for the handling of Property Binder claims and provide mentoring and support to junior Property Claims Underwriters where appropriate.
  • Work closely with and support the Underwriting teams whose claims you handle, including providing regular updates and renewal information where required.
  • Work closely with brokers and clients to resolve claims effectively and efficiently.
  • Liaise with following and co-lead markets, including arranging and hosting market meetings where necessary and attending meetings as required.
  • Take responsibility for instructing and managing lawyers and experts where appropriate to assist with coverage determination, quantum assessment and the resolution of disputes.
  • Act as relationship manager and key claims contact for all Delegated Claims Administrators (DCAs) within the Property Binders portfolio, working closely with the Delegated Authority team and Underwriters.
  • Oversee the outsourced review and processing of monthly financial bordereaux, including appropriate triage to Claims Managers and Claims Underwriters where agreed criteria are met. Ensure bordereaux remain up to date and escalate any issues to the Head of Claims Operations & Analytics, Claims Managers, Binder Authority Team and Underwriters.
  • Ensure the internal CAT plan is implemented and adhered to where required.
  • Review loss fund adequacy and support the Claims Operations function with the recovery of loss funds relating to prior years.
  • Ensure the company's Reserving Philosophy is applied consistently and that all claims reserving is undertaken in a timely, accurate and consistent manner.
  • Escalate large or complex claims through the Claims Department as required and complete Executive Claims Summaries where appropriate.
  • Report appropriate claims to the Outwards Reinsurance Department on a timely basis and assist with reinsurer recoveries where necessary.
  • Support the Claims Operations function with the company's delegation of claims authority to Coverholders and Delegated Claims Administrators (DCAs). This may include maintaining the control framework for delegated claims authority, agreeing and updating DCA Service Level Agreements, ensuring appropriate MI is submitted regularly, and ensuring work undertaken on the company's behalf is appropriately peer reviewed, audited and compliant with all applicable regulations.
  • Undertake any other ad hoc duties or tasks as required by management.
