Overview
Strata Solicitors, Gallagher Bassett’s in-house law firm, are looking to appoint a Senior Technical Claims Handler to join their growing team.
This role will suit an experienced handler with a strong technical background in large loss Personal Injury claims (exceeding £100k), looking to play a key role in complex case management and technical leadership.
The role can be aligned to either our Blisworth or Tamworth office, with home working flexibility and ad hoc travel to the office as required.

How you'll make an impact
- You will take full ownership of a portfolio of high-value, complex Personal Injury claims, managing cases through the pre-litigation stage and driving strategy to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Alongside your caseload, you will act as a technical specialist, supporting colleagues and contributing to continuous improvement across the team.
- Manage a caseload of large loss Personal Injury claims (£100k+), from initial notification through to settlement
- Develop and execute strategy on liability and quantum, achieving cost-effective and timely outcomes
- Act as a technical referral point, providing guidance on complex claims and improving team capability
- Maintain accurate reserving, MI, and file management in line with SLAs and best practice
- Build strong relationships with clients, insurers, and panel solicitors, attending review meetings where required
- Support leadership with process improvement, technical excellence, and service delivery
About You
- Proven experience handling high-value Personal Injury claims (£100k+) is essential
- Strong background in third-party claims within a legal, insurance, or TPA environment
- Confident managing complex liability and quantum discussions
- Working knowledge of CPR and relevant case law
- Experience across EL/PL, credit hire, or property claims is beneficial (but can be developed)
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence, advise, and build relationships
- Eligible to work in the UK.
