Our client, South Gloucestershire Council, a dedicated organisation committed to enhancing public services, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Clerk of Works to join their dynamic Kingswood Park Delivery Team. This team plays a vital role in supporting the Council's responsibility for the management and provision of green public realm space, contributing to vital climate and nature recovery initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Management: Confirm that correct datum points and benchmarks are used, ensuring accurate building and structure setups on site.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough measurements and samples to guarantee that work and materials meet all specifications and quality standards.
- Inspections: Perform regular site inspections of building, demolition, and restoration works at Kingswood Park, meticulously recording all activities and defects to ensure compliance with project specifications and drawings.
- Material Verification: Ensure the use of correct materials and quality workmanship, providing the client with exceptional value for money.
- Data Reporting: Deliver inspection data, either electronically or in paper form, to the Lead Designer/Delivery Project Manager.
- Defect Management: Collaborate with the Lead Designer/Delivery Project Manager to arrange effective remedial treatments for all defects, maintaining essential records and regular reports for all activities.
- Meeting Participation: Attend all required meetings throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment and communication.

Personal Requirements
- Educational Background: HTEC in Building & Construction and/or MICW preferred. A minimum of 5 GCSEs is required.
- Experience: A broad understanding of the building services and construction industry, with a commitment to quality in the finished product.
- Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of best practices in construction, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional tact and diplomacy in listening to others, alongside the ability to give clear and concise technical reports, directions, and instructions both orally and in writing.
- ICT Proficiency: Strong ICT literacy, with excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills, enabling effective collaboration with individuals at all levels, both internal and external.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of relevant statutes, guidance, and current technology innovations in the field.
