Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire (Hybrid Working)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Client Accountant to join a successful and expanding commercial property consultancy. This is a key appointment within a growing business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a varied commercial property portfolio while working closely with senior leadership, property managers, and clients.

The Role
You'll be responsible for the financial management of a commercial property portfolio, ensuring the accurate delivery of all client accounting functions while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and client service.
Working closely with Directors and the wider Property Management team, you'll play an integral role in supporting business growth and driving continuous improvements across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of a commercial property client accounting portfolio.
- Prepare and manage annual service charge budgets.
- Produce service charge reconciliations and year-end accounts.
- Raise rent demands, allocate cash receipts, and monitor rent collection.
- Manage tenant arrears and oversee credit control activities.
- Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports for clients.
- Complete bank reconciliations and oversee cash management.
- Ensure compliance with RICS Client Money regulations.
- Support Property Managers with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Prepare forecasts and cash flow reports.
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors.
- Produce management information for senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance financial controls.
- Mentor and support junior members of the finance team where appropriate.

About You
You'll already have a strong background in commercial property client accounting and be confident managing multiple properties, deadlines, and stakeholder relationships.
Essential
- Significant experience within commercial property accounting.
- Previous experience working for either:
- A commercial property consultancy; or
- A commercial property owner, investor, or developer.
- Strong understanding of service charge accounting.
- Experience preparing service charge budgets and reconciliations.
- Proven arrears management and credit control experience.
- Experience producing management accounts and client financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using property accounting systems such as TRAMPS, Horizon, MRI, Qube, Re-Leased, or similar.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable
- AAT, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience).
- Knowledge of RICS Client Money regulations.
- Previous experience within a growing SME property business.
