About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Client Accountant to join our Commercial Property Asset Management team in Birmingham.

Working within a dedicated team of four, you will be responsible for the day-to-day client accounting and reporting requirements for one of our most prestigious clients. The portfolio includes a high-profile business park, offices, industrial sites and several standalone properties.

This is a varied and client-facing role, working closely with surveyors, on-site teams, Partners and specialist accounting teams across the business. You will also attend client and site meetings, presenting financial reporting and responding directly to client and tenant queries.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly and quarterly client reporting
  • Producing management accounts in line with agreed deadlines and client KPIs
  • Preparing client statements and supporting financial reports
  • Producing variance analysis and providing clear explanations
  • Raising rent and processing other ad hoc charges
  • Managing database and lease administration amendments
  • Supporting service charge budgeting, reviews and reconciliations
  • Completing cash reconciliations, cashflow reporting and rental income distributions
  • Monitoring cash balances, void liabilities and caps
  • Supporting tax reporting and HMRC submissions, including CIS, VAT and NRL
  • Liaising with third-party auditors
  • Managing the administration of portfolio management fees
  • Attending and presenting at client and site meetings
  • Responding to client and tenant accounting queries
  • Working closely with Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, Treasury, Surveyors, Facilities Management and on-site teams

What we are looking for

You will be an organised, driven and confident accountant with strong client accounting knowledge and experience working in a similar environment.

You should have:

  • Previous experience as a Client Accountant or Senior Client Accountant
  • Strong experience of client reporting in a range of formats
  • Experience of producing management accounts
  • A proven track record of delivering accurate work to a high standard and within set deadlines
  • Confidence communicating directly with clients, tenants and senior stakeholders
  • The ability to explain financial information clearly and present reporting at meetings
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Good Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • The ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Flexibility to travel to client and site meetings when required

Experience within a property agency or commercial property environment would be highly beneficial. Knowledge of Qube Horizon and Proactis would also be advantageous.
